electrical engineer

The ratio of supply and demand for the position of electrical engineer is 8.2 resumes for one vacancy. The response to an open position sometimes reaches 70-80 resumes. However, this does not mean an overabundance of electrical engineers in the labor market.

Indeed, if we talk about specialists with at least minimal experience in this position, the ratio of supply and demand is reduced to 2.4 resumes for one vacancy. And this is already lower than the average for the market (3.5 resumes per vacancy). At the same time, in half of the vacancies, employers indicate the desired work experience of more than 3 years. And only 5% of employers are ready to consider applicants without work experience.

This situation should make both employers and job seekers think. Young specialists should resolve the issue with gaining experience in the specialty as early as possible, whether it is a part-time job, internship or practice. At the same time, employers may think about cooperation with universities that produce relevant specialists, so that the most promising students have the opportunity and motivation to work in their company. This scheme of resolving the issue of personnel hunger has been successfully applied in other sectors (telecommunications, banks, etc.), and this experience can easily be transferred to other specialties.
